Bringing the Glow to “Joyful Life” — Behind the Scenes with Our Makeup & Hair Team

There’s something special about collaborating with an artist at the start of their creative journey — the energy is fresh, the ideas are bold, and the possibilities feel endless. Our team had the joy of working with rising musician Yeri Hye for her new music video, “Joyful Life.” From the very first conversation, we knew this project would be filled with colour, movement, and emotion — and that our job would be to help translate all of that into a look that felt authentically her.

Crafting a look that matches the music

“Joyful Life” is a song that radiates lightness — a dreamy blend of optimism, sincerity, and youthful confidence. Our goal was to design makeup and hair that supported that message without overshadowing it. We focused on a soft, natural aesthetic: fresh skin, glowing warmth, and effortless, breezy hair movement that would complement Yeri’s presence on camera.

For the makeup, we emphasized:

• A luminous, skin-first finish that allowed her natural beauty to shine

• Soft, neutral tones to keep the look timeless and expressive

• Subtle enhancements around the eyes to maintain a sense of openness and authenticity 

For hair, we kept things flowy and organic. We wanted gentle movement — something that would catch the light and shift with her body, adding to the music video’s uplifting atmosphere.

Preparing the look: collaboration, vision, and seamless execution

Our preparation process was intentionally detailed to ensure the look translated beautifully on camera. We coordinated closely with the creative team beforehand, crafting makeup and hair that would complement the planned lighting, wardrobe, and overall aesthetic of “Joyful Life.” By focusing on longevity, camera-readiness, and a cohesive visual feel, we were confident that the look would remain fresh and true to the song’s message of ease, optimism, and natural beauty throughout the shoot.

Yeri was a dream to work with: open-minded, expressive, and full of joy — exactly as the title promises. Seeing her step into character and bring the song to life made our role even more rewarding.

Why We Loved This Project

Every now and then, a project comes along that reminds us why we love what we do. “Joyful Life” was one of those. It allowed us to collaborate with a talented new artist, contribute to her artistic vision, and help create a visual story that will be part of her musical journey for years to come.
