A lot of work goes into a beautiful bridal hairstyle. It is obvious that you need a hair stylist who understands your hair and creates an updo or a down-style that suits you, your makeup and your outfit. Waves, we're over here. But just as important, you also need a brilliant hairdresser to do all the important prep work before the wedding day.
When should be the last hairdresser visit?
Approximately 2 weeks before the wedding day, especially if you are having any colour or highlights done. This allows time for the colour to settle.
A trim is always a good idea before the wedding to get rid of any split or dry ends. If you are going to have an updo, some layers would help. However, make sure your hairdresser doesn't cut chunks of hair out (unless your wedding hair stylist asked for this to be done).
If you have already had a hair trial, bring some photos from the trial with you. This will give your hairdresser an idea on what is the appropriate length for you, as well as the shape of any fringe.
Make sure you have a discussion with your wedding day hair stylist on what is the most appropriate colour for your chosen hairstyle. For example, ombré generally does not work well with updo. You may also consider to have some highlights done. Highlights bring out the curls, waves and texture in the hair.
Contrary to what most brides-to-be think, a hair treatment is not strictly necessary before the wedding day. In fact, most hair stylists prefer hair that is not silky smooth (or even slightly damaged!), because it holds style better.
